Midfielder Rahim Ayew is eyeing a special debut in the CAF Champions League when Asante Kotoko take on Barrack Young Controllers on Sunday.
The 25-year-old is expected to play a part in Kotokos season opener in the flagship African club competition against the Liberian side at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Ayew was impressive on his Kotoko debut where he clinched the Man of the Match award FA Cup win over First Klass FC.
The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele hopes for a special inaugural outing in the CAF Champions League with a massive attendance and a positive result.
This will be my first ever appearance in the CAF Champions League as a professional player and I want it to be special, he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
I want to help the side to win massively. I am in physical and psychological shape and of course I want to do well in this game.
It is an important match for us and we want the supporters to come in their numbers. We need their support in order to get the required result.
I really hope they come in their numbers to urge on this team to a resounding win on Sunday.
The reigning Ghana champions fell at the final qualification hurdle in last seasons contest to Algerian club JSM Bejaia.
Kotoko however hope to make at least the group stage this term.
