23-year-old Mubarak Wakaso is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays for FC Rubin Kazan in Russia, and the Black Stars.
Wakaso represented Ghana at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru, playing two matches in an eventual group stage exit.
He made his full international debut on 13 October 2012, in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi.
Wakaso scored his first goal for Ghana in a friendly with Cape Verde, on 14 November 2012.
He was picked for the squad that appeared at the 2013 CAN in South Africa.
Mubarak Wakaso was born on the 25th of July, 1990 in Tamale.
He is married with three children but lost his fourth, a 4-month old baby in his native Tamale in January this year.
Wakaso is a Muslim, and conducts Salat before and after every match.
He is currently in Brazil with the Black Stars in the upcoming 2014 World Cup.
