Grapevine sources close to Ghanasportsoonline.com have revealed that former Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has expressed his readiness to coach the Black Stars.

The 52-year-old who was recently relieved from his post as head coach of the Super Eagles wants to continue his exploits on the African continent by taking up the vacant position at the senior national team.

The 2013 African Cup of Nations winning coach seemed to have been late in showing interest in the top job at the Black Stars after the Ghana FA last week completed their interview section with the final three applicants for the job.

The ex-Nigerian star made history in Togolese football when he qualified the Togo national team to the World cup for the first time in Germany 2006 after which he was promptly replaced by German Otto Pfister prior to the World Cup finals.

The astute tactician however guided the Nigerian national team to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, having won the Cup of nations with the side the previous year in South Africa.

Keshi is regarded as one of the most renowned African coaches due to his achievement on the continent winning the African coach of the year in 2013.
