Ghana coach Avram Grant admits Guinea will be a tough side to beat in the quarter finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations due to the familiarity that exists between both sides.

The Syli National qualified to play the Black Stars at the knockout stage by the stroke of luck having been successful in a CAF draw after they finished Group D tied on points and goal difference with Mali.

Michel Dussuyer’s side is however a team on a mission at the 2015 AFCON having qualified for the finals playing all their home matches away from their country which was one of the worst hit by the deadly Ebola virus.

They also qualified having played Ghana twice in the qualifiers.

Avram Grant reckons the familiarity between both sides in recent times will make their quarter final clash on Sunday evening more difficult.

“We played against them during qualification which means we know them and they know us,” Grant said in his pre-match press conference.

“But preparations are the same – training, meetings.

“We know that quarter finals is one game.

“This is not the group stage, in the group stage we lost one game and had to win the other two games to qualify [for quarter finals].

“I know Guinea, I saw their games and I must say they play very good football.

“They know how to play football and they have good players and they deserve to be here in the quarter finals.

“They will be a very tough team to beat.”
