Ghana winger Andre Ayew was paid a whooping 8 million euros by the Swansea as signing on fee, reports in France suggest.
The 25-year-old joined Garry Monk's side on a four-year contract, having come to the end of his Marseille deal.
And according to Friday's edition of L’Équipe, the Black Stars' deputy captain received a €8m just as a signing on fee for joining the Premier League side.
This is something that Marseille will look back on and wonder if only they had actually sold the player earlier in order to recoup some of the transfer fee.
Ayew, 25, the 2011 BBC African Footballer of the Year, has won 62 caps, scoring 11 goals for Ghana's senior national team.
