Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will not offer Emmanuel Adebayor a way back into his first-team plans next season.
Spurs are desperate to get rid of the Togolese striker this summer but are finding huge difficulty in shifting him off the wage bill.
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood, who got the best out of Adebayor during his reign as Tottenham boss, wants the striker.
But his huge £100,000-per-week deal is proving a stumbling block.
Tottenham are willing to pay a percentage of his wages to offload Adebayor next season and will let him leave on a cut-price deal.
Nevertheless, Spurs are still finding huge difficulties in selling the striker but Pochettino will not consider re-introducing Adebayor into his plans next season despite the prospect of having to keep the former Manchester City man.
The Argentine has privately insisted Adebayor has no chance of featuring next season. Adebayor, vía social media, has publicly declared he wants to stay at White Hart Lane and plans to see out the final year of his contract.
But his chances of playing under Pochettino seem virtually non-existent.
