Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil was the biggest casualty at the executive committee elections as he failed to get his mandate renewed by the delegates.

Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil has been kicked out of the executive committee of the games governing body.

Crentsil, who was seeking to earn a third term on the decision making body, happened to be the biggest casualty after failing to secure one of the four slots available to clubs in the division one- Ghana’s second tier.

This means the veteran football administrator will not have the chance to be considered for the vice presidency slot since he will be out of the new 22-member executive committee.

Wilfred Osei and Kwaku Eyiah retained their places from the division one clubs, while J.F Mensah and Kurt Okraku emerged as the new faces.

Meanwhile, six members were earlier elected to represent the premier league clubs on the executive committee.

The list includes George Afriyie (Liberty Professionals), Albert Commey (Aduana Stars), Samuel Opoku Nti (Asante Kotoko), Frank Nelson (Hearts of Oak) and Nab Benjamin Enyison (Sekondi Hasacas).

Apart from Mr. Afriyie, the other five members are all new faces. He is one of the strong candidates for the vice president role after Crentsil’s defeat.

AshGold’s CEO Kudjoe Fianoo is also a big casualty after failing to retain his seat.

As it stands now, twelve slots on the 22-member team have been picked. This includes Leanier Addy, who was elected from the Ghana FA constituent bodies on Monday, and Kwesi Nyantakyi, the president of the Association who doubles as the chairman of the executive committee.

Later next month, the ten winners of the regional football association elections will also join the national executive committee.
