Ghana coach Avram Grant has voted Andre Ayew to become the 2015 BBC African Player of the Year a few hours before polls are closed on Monday.
The Swansea City forward is up against Yaya Toure, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Sadio Mane and Yacine Brahimi for the award organized by the British broadcaster.
Ayew is in with a chance to win the accolade for the second time after grabbing the award in 2011. He however needs to garner more votes than his other competitors to clinch the award.
Avram Grant who is preparing himself to hold a press conference a year on since his appointment as Black Stars coach is one of millions scattered all over the world expected to place their votes before the 6pm (local time) deadline on Monday.
Andre Ayew is considered a strong contender for the award following his explosive start into just his debut season in the English Premier League.
He has so far scored six goals despite not being an out-and-out striker and was deservedly named August's Player of the Month in the English top flight.
