The Youth and Sports Minister-designate Isaac Asiamah has revealed that each Black Stars player took home $21,000 after placing fourth at the just ended AFCON in Gabon.
According to Asiamah his amicable dialogue with the players in Gabon saw the slashing of the amount from $42,000 to $21,000 and hopes to continue to save money for the country during his term in office during tournaments.
“We paid for qualification of $15,000 in the group stage and just a win in the quarter final stage. The players took per diems which I don’t know as minister.
The Atwima-Mponua Member of Parliament added “I am confident to turn around things in the coming days.”

ANY SERIOUS COUNTRY USES ECONOMIES OF SCALE IN WHATEVER IT DOES. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN SOMETHING YOU DON'T WASTE MONEY. WHAT WAS THE BENIFIT IN WASTING MONEY ALL THE TIME ON SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT BRING PROFIT INTO THE COUNTRY. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME CHINA AND MALAYSIA PLAYED IN WORLD CUP OR THAT OTHER COMPETITIONS. I ARE THEY NOT DEVELOPED?. SAME OLD METHODS, WAY RESULTS. BENEFICIARIES : POLITICIANS, GFA EXECUTIVES, THE PLAYERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Any taxes taken out ?
talk is cheap, but its time to work and show or proof your worth so we can do proper comparison.
This guy is the wrong person for this position. No one should expect any changes in the status quo...
eill Honourable we need clarity
why do we pay $15,000 for group qualification when we always hear that the bonus is per match win - therefore 2 wins should have been $10,000. pls and pls again what did we agree with the team? per match bonus or per qualification bonus. can this agreement be made public so that nobody throws dust into our eyes with any semantics.
ok you have done well honourable minister. The questions that need to be answered are; 1. How much did each Black Star player receive in total for the tourney. 2. How much did we gain in total for participating in the tourney and how much did we spend. And how much was our profit margin or loss margin. 3. How much did we spend in the qualifying series and did we make any profit or losses during the qualifying series?. These are the questions we need answers to.
