Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah has reiterated that former Ghana Coach Avram Grant enjoyed a monthly expenditure of $70,000.
The MP for Suame during business of Parliament on February 24 revealed the Israeli was on a monthly outlay of $70,000 which included his salary, accommodation, food, transportation and other expenses.
The former Chelsea boss was believed to be paid a monthly salary of $50,000 during his two-year spell as head Coach of the Black Stars, a claim which was denied by the Ghana Football Association Spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Darra despite failing to state the actual take home salary of the expatriate Coach during an interview with Accra-based Starr FM.
The former BBC Broadcaster went on to deny claims Grant was on a $70,000 monthly expenditure.
However Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah insists his facts holds hence calling for the appointment of a local Coach to reduce the huge financial burden on the government.
“In the books of GNPC, they say they spend approximately $70,000 at the end of the month on Avram Grant,” he said on Nhyira FM.
“It includes the $50,000 salary, accommodation, car and that’s what to arrive at $70,000 on the average.
“When he travels abroad for scouting, his travel fares are borne by GNPC, his hotel bills over there, that’s how come it works to $70,000.
“If the FA say it is not true, why are they hiding behind Non-Disclosure; is the money not for Ghanaians and that the Auditor-General will audit?
“If they will not disclose, they will have to do it to the Auditor General and he will present it to Parliament. So why don’t you want to speak the truth about that? What is there to hide that you are falling on Non-Disclosure? I know what I’m talking about and I know I’m right.”
The Ghana Football Association have begun the search of a new Coach for the Black Stars team with over 70 Coaches reported to have applied for the job.

Saani Daara and his football people's lies have been exposed big time. Just recently Saani told us that Grant takes less than $50,000 but what are we hearing? Public account committee should scrutinise properly when GNPC's accounts comes before them from the Auditor General. We will all know if it is 'red' or 'green'. We will waiting patiently.
IN FACT IN SHOULD RISE AGAINST SUCH HUGE EXPENDITURE IN FUTURE.
The President earns GHC22,000 which is about $5000
