Confederation of African football’s president Dr Ahmad Ahmad has insisted that Egyptian attacker Mohammed Salah is currently a better player than Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.
The Egyptian playmaker has enjoyed a spectacular season for Liverpool, netting 31 goals in the Premier League and was named the Professionals Footballer Player of the Year in England.
During an interview with the local media before heading to the Manhyia palace for a courtesy call on his Royal Majesty Osei Tutu the 2nd, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, the continent's football governing body head lavished commendation on the Egyptian ace for his exploits for the Pharaohs and Liverpool.
“Mohammed SALAH is the best player now not Messi” The CAF President told the media.
The reigning African football of the year was a key figure in the Pharaohs qualification to the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The 25-year-old has translated that form to his club side Liverpool as he leads their surge to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League after scoring home and away against Manchester City as the Reds thrashed City.

take or leave it MESSI IS THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME. BAM!!!!!!
Thanks my bro Don Biko. Your stats tells it all unless people don't want to read. In fact the comparison is of today (this season)and not years back. Lets call spade a spade. Salah is doing all in football this season. Lets encourage him and stop the normal African hatred attitude. There is time for everything and this time is for Sala.
You see Africans? They never want change! They are used to Messi and when a new King arrives they are resistant to change! There is no doubt that Salah is the best player on the planet at the moment(shared opinion with Steven Gerard) but it does not make Messi a bad player. The following reasons support such a claim: 1.His statistics speak for everyone who wants to listen. 2. Whilst it is possible to mark out Messi completely in a game it is not possible to mark out Salah in a game. Roma did it against Barca but couldn't do it against Liverpool where Salah was the architect of everything good. 3.He is not only scoring but creating goals as well. At the moment he is the only player who can single-handedly decide the outcome of a match. When he was in the match against Roma he was involved in 4 of their 5 goals but as soon as he was substituted the deficit was reduced by 2 with only about 20minutes to play. Similar thing happened against Portugal and West Brom Albion. Needless to add, he does not make mistakes and almost every thing he does result in a goal! In the light of these stats does any body want him to grow horns before they acknowledge him as the best player in the world?
The fufu u eat while in Ghana is not good you. see your tummy is troubling you and saying such. eh
On what basis are u saying this?? May be Sallah is currently enjoying good form this season...our king 🤴 can never be compared to🔵🔴
Sala is a good player but we all know Messi has no size. Don't make a laughing stock of yourself ok
