GHALCA Set For Emergency Meeting Today

The Ghana League clubs Association are set to meet for an emergency meeting this afternoon to discuss the way forward after the suspension of domestic games in the country. 

This comes after the government indicated it has taken steps to dissolve the Ghana Football Association following the revelations of the Anas expose which was premiered last Wednesday.

Several top officials of the Association were caught on camera receiving cash gifts which was against it's own regulations.

Representatives of the forty eight division one sides and 16 premier league sides will converge at the secretariat of GHALCA at the Accra Sports Stadium to delibrate about the scandal that has hit the Football Association and the way forward.

"It was on Friday that GHALCA issued a communique stating it wants to meet the representatives of all the football clubs, that is 48 division one sides and the 16 premier league clubs and other stakeholders for an emergency meeting today," Mickey Charles, owner of Division one side Techiman City FC confirmed on Zylofon FM.

The crux of the meeting will be to look for a way forward following the suspension of the local league. All games were suspended after it was announced that government is taking steps to dissolve the Football Association.

According to Mickey Charles, GHALCA is looking forward to the right and quick fix to the current happenings in Ghana Football.

"We are looking for the way forward for Ghana Football following the happening of the lats 48 to 72 hours," he said.

"So it's true we are meeting today at 3:00 pm at the Ghalca secretariat for an emergency meeting," he added.
