Mr. Elvis Adjei-Baah, head of Public Relations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), has warned football fans to be wary of persons, agents or organizations supposedly working on behalf of the ministry to convey fans to Egypt for the 2019 African Nations Cup (AFCON) 2019.
According to Mr. Adjei-Baah, no individual, agency or organization has been mandated by the ministry to convey supporters to Egypt to cheer the Black Stars, in the competition, scheduled for June and July, 2019.
“It has come to the notice of the Ministry that, some disgruntled people are fronting for the ministry, as agents to convey Ghanaian football fans to Egypt for the forthcoming AFCON tournament.
“The ministry wishes to state that, there are no such arrangements between the sports ministry and any agent, person or organization.
“It should be made known that, no individual would make any payment to anyone to convey him/her to Egypt to cheer the senior national team,” he added.
Mr Adjei-Baah noted that all prospective travelers for the tournament are advised not to deal with any person or persons or organization in that regard.
