Before his decision to contest the parliamentary seat on the ticket on the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region was considered as one of the strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), but that is no more the case as Ambassador Victor Smith is gaining massive endorsements from even hardcore NPP members in the constituency.
