Is The NDC Tired Of Power?

The differences that exist within the ruling National Democratic Congress is no longer a joke. As though a spell has been cast on the party, day in day out the level of acrimony and personality clashes has become the order of the day. Every political party even in the advance worlds have their own share of internal party disagreement but the force that still holds most of these political parties together; management of internal conflict and differences seems to be completely missing in the NDC. I cannot comprehend why a party that have suffered in the hands of an opposition political party just a few years ago will want to compromise its fortunes so easily especially now that their differences have been extended into the first quarter of the election year. First of all, the question is, has the party any leadership? To the extent that people are no longer weary of the implications of their actions? How can people who call themselves matured political actors behave in such immature manner? Since when does contesting a parliamentary seat become the preserve of some few? Why should it be a crime for party members to contest sitting members of parliament who have been generally perceive as non- performing become an affront and for that matter deserve to be punished? The recent development within the NDC especially in the Northern region following the parliamentary elections is a serious political blunder that the party is committing. I am surprised that Hon. Abukari Sumani who have been the partys representative in the Tamale North constituency since 1994 could decent so low to see to it that his close competitor and his own former spokesperson and secretary could be transferred from his job post just because he contested him in an election. As for Hon. Dr. Yakubu, Member of Parliament for Mion constituency, the least talks about him the better. A member of parliament, who should be uniting other contestants, could only retort that because his former secretary contested him whatever happened to him, he cares less. Mr. Sylvester Mensah, if the apparent transfer of these two gentlemen were foiled by these two members of parliament, then I think you also deserve to be called a politically immature person. Now, the implications of these transfers could have been taking into consideration before the transfers effected. How can you transfer a core-communication team member of the party to a different community just because he contested a sitting member of parliament? How do you expect these individuals to continue contributing to the success of the party when they are treated in their own political party this way? Those actors involved in this blunder, I believe are suffering from bounded rationality and if care is not taken, and these two core former executives of the party goes as independent candidates, then the NDC eminently will lose the elections in these said constituencies. I have a lot to say about this development especially now that I cannot tell who I should call on now to reverse this decision and resolve NDC destructive and daunting internal conflicts. If you can be treated in your own party this way, then how will you then be handled if the political table happened to turn tomorrow? God! You are the only one for now that can tell what is wrong with this party that most of us have struggled and sacrificed our blood to bring to power?
