FONKARs Owusu Bempah Charged

The beleaguered Director of Operations of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR), Ernest Owusu Bempah, has been charged with publishing false news with intent to cause fear and panic. The charge comes a day after Owusu Bempah visited the Police Headquarters to answer questions based on an allegation he made against First Lady, Naadu Mills. Owusu Bempah who was invited by the BNI was later transferred to the Police Headquarters to substantiate the claims. It was at this point that he is quoted to have said that he did not have evidence to his allegations and that what he said was due to anger over insults heaped on them by Koku Anyidoho. His allegation was that the sitting First lady enjoyed some GHC 51 million from the judgement debt paid to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome who is standing trial over the judgement debt. Some other members of FONKAR besieged the police headquarters to solidarise with one of their own who was later declared missing by the other FONKAR members saying that they did not know his whereabouts. Sources however say Mr. Owusu Bempah is still with the CID.
