The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed media reports suggesting that the party has sidelined former president Rawlings from the party�s upcoming rally. The NDC has scheduled what it describes as a curtain raiser rally for the 2012 elections at Mantse Agboena on Saturday March 17. But the Former First Lady, Mrs. Rawlings according to the Finder newspaper has denied any knowledge of the said rally suggesting that the former first couple may not have been invited to the rally. However, speaking to XYZ News, the Greater Accra regional propaganda secretary of the NDC, Nii Duodu Doodo, said the regional executives of the party have extended invitation to all who matter in the party including former President Rawlings and his wife. �Everybody that matter in the NDC in the greater Accra region have been given an invitation. You cant do a rally in the Greater Accra region without inviting the founder,� Mr. Doodo said,, adding that "if by that day he doesn�t have any program because now we know he is an ambassador, I know that he will come�.
