FONKAR'S Owusu Bempah Needs Intercessory Prayers - Sammy Awuku

A Deputy Director of Communications for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku, is calling on all Ghanaians especially sympathizers of Director of Operations of FONKAR, Owusu Bempah, to offer a word of prayer unto the Lord on behalf of the incarcerated FONKAR executive whose whereabouts is currently unknown. The FONKAR firebrand alleged on an Accra-based radio station that First Lady, Mrs. Naadu Mills received US$ 5 million from the embattled businessman, Alfred Woyome, who is being tried in the infamous judgment debt saga. The First Lady has however denied the allegation. Owusu-Bempah honored an invitation to the Bureau of National Investigations for the allegation on Wednesday but was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Headquarters for further interrogation and was later charged provisionally for publishing false information meant to cause fear and panic and was detained overnight. But his Lawyers say they are yet to make contact with him. According to his lawyers, they waited endlessly for their clients arrival in court Thursday following claims by the police that he (Bempah) would be brought to court for prosecution to begin after his arrest Wednesday. Friends and sympathisers were however treated to a no-show. Duah Agyeman, one of his lawyers claim after waiting anxiously at the Osu circuit court for hours but to no avail, they headed to the BNI premises where he was detained overnight, but nothing concrete came out of it.
