Apostle Opoku Onyinah: Be An Agent of Peace

President JEA Mills on Sunday joined thousands of Christians at the Independence square for the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service to thank God on behalf of the entire country. The service attracted members from the clergy and politicians from the various political divide. President Mills in his speech re-emphasized his governments commitment to ensure a peaceful Ghana before and after the December polls. We all want a peaceful Ghana, before during and after the elections. As human beings what we can do is to exercise the power that God has given us...But it is only God who can add his seal of approval to our efforts...let us continue to pray because without prayers we are nothing, President Mills said. The Chairman of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, who preached the sermon at the Service to crown the week long national fasting and prayers event, cautioned Ghanaians not to behave like the biblical Nabal, and to also do away with insults. Basing the sermon on I Samuel 25: 23-31, in reference to an incident involving King David, Nabal and Abigail, Apostle Onyinah pointed out the essence to be on guard by words and deeds to maintain peace between one and his or her compatriots. Speaking on the topic: Be An Agent of Peace, he said as a nation, "it is not too late for us to wholly depend upon God's grace and love" pointing out that "we need to forgive one another and press on".
