Contracts have been awarded for the construction of six more classroom blocks under the projects to eliminate schools under tree project. The new school blocks would benefit Sikorkor, Safoanor, Mangoase, Tafro and two others. The completion of these structures are very important to beneficiary schools which are currently using dilapidated structures or having classes under trees especially now that the rains have just started. Government on assumption of power pledged to eliminate schools under trees or those in dilapidated structures across the country and through to its words, the Ghana Education Trust Fund, GETTFund was charged with the mandate of ensuring this plan is well executed. Since then a lot of schools have seen tremendous improvement in their infrastructure. Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive George Opare Addo disclosed that a number of school infrastructure are due for construction by the district assembly through its district development fund particularly for kindergartens. They are 3-unit classroom block at Awukugua SDA, two kindergartens at Kobokobo and Kyekyeku.
