Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a UK-based Ghanaian International Evangelist, on Tuesday asked the citizenry to be discerning about the December 7 General Election by voting God fearing people to stir the country to peace and prosperity. He said the track record of the politicians seeking their mandate is there for all to see, hence the need for Ghanaians to be critical in choosing who should lead them. Dr Tetteh, who is also the President and Founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra at the end of the annual Ghana for Christ Crusade, he hosted with the support of Reverend Paul Naughton of Benny Hinn Ministries in the UK. He said it was not enough for politicians to visit churches just to win votes, adding that those seeking the mandate of the people must show in practical terms that they are Christians, who are prepared to lead Ghana to tap the blessings of the Almighty God, which are peace, stability and prosperity. Dr Tetteh asked the media to be sensitive about what they report before, during and after the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, saying a slip of the pen could serve the worse purpose of the devil. �The media must also not twist what the Clergy says on the pulpit to serve their political ends, since a true man or woman of God is beyond partisan politics. �Ghanaian journalists must not take messages on the pulpit out of contest to put the clergy in political controversies. �Equally the Men of God should also be mindful of what they say or preach on the pulpit,� he stressed. Dr Tetteh reiterated his call that Ghanaians have a collective responsibility to keep the country united for the forthcoming elections. �Let us as a nation keep our enviable record as a peaceful and stable democratic State and should not lose sight of what befell our neighbours when they deviated from the democratic path. �Besides every Ghanaian should go on his or her knees and thank God for how far He has brought us and pray for peace and national unity,� he said. Dr Tetteh said the grace of God is sufficient for Ghana and all it takes for the country to receive the blessings of God is for the country to be kingdom minded and position itself to do the will and bidding of the Lord at all times. Touching on the crusade he said it had been an annual event since 1991, bringing people to the knowledge of God. Dr Tetteh said it also marked 25 years of his active ministerial calling.
