NPP MPs Were Rooting For Ambrose Dery - Minority Leader

Minority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised to re-capture power from the ruling National Democratic (NDC) with the announcement of party's vice presidential candidate. The party�s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo selected Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate ahead of the December polls. Mr. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu however stated that though most of his colleague MPs favored the candidature of Deputy Minority Leader, Ambrose Dery, they still support Dr. Bawumia as Nana Addo�s preferred candidate. He told XYZ News all is set for the NPP to take over the ruling of the country. �Most of the MPs who came to me were rooting for Ambrose Dery. We communicated same to the flagbearer but we recognize that we are not the only stakeholders in the party. There are equally other major stakeholders.� He said the selection of Dr. Bawumia will not be an impediment to the NPP in the December polls. �As democrats we must live with the decision of the majority and that is where we are.� Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula who was also in contention for the running mate slot told XYZ News he is ready to support the Nana Addo-Bawumia Ticket. �Of course I will do my [best] because that is the aim of our great party, the NPP, and whatever we shall do to gain power is what we shall do.�
