Ecobank said it would remain committed to providing customer-focused financial services and products to its clients, and entice the country�s unbanked population into the sector, Mr. Samuel Ashitey Adjei, Managing Director, Ecobank Ghana has said. Speaking at the opening of Burma Camp branch of the bank in Accra, Mr Adjei said the bank would go all length to keep its customers satisfied through the provision of excellent services while maintaining the bank�s lead as one of the biggest and best banks in the country. �Ecobank remain committed to our customers and focused on how best we can facilitate their financial transaction,� he said. Mr Adjei said the bank, deemed as Africa�s largest independent regional banking group with presence in 32 African countries, had continued to expand its operations with the vision of bringing banking services closer to clients. Ecobank, currently, has 54 branches in Ghana, including the Burma Camp branch, all of them fully networked, with 132 functional ATMs across the country. Mr Adjei said, opening of the branch reaffirmed the bank�s association with one of the most important and most historical communities in the country. �Our goal is to create a fully-fledged, retail, one stop shop to serve this gallant community and provide you with suitable products,� he said. �It is important that we do all within our powers to make it possible for all our soldiers to devote their energies to the execution of the arduous responsibilities of securing us at home and abroad without worrying about the security of their own finances,� Mr Adjei said. He said the bank intended to make the branch a hub of excellence by providing banking services and solutions with �military precision�. Mr Lionel Van Lare Dosoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ecobank Ghana, said the presence of the bank in the camp positioned it to support the momentum of the economic growth by providing financial products and services to the military. The Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay, commended Ecobank for establishing a branch at Burma Camp and said that it would no doubt help promote the culture of savings and prudent financial management among the military. In addition, it would provide the freedom of choice to members of the Burma Camp community. Lt-Gen. Blay called for innovative banking services and products that would meet the needs of the community and expressed the hope that the partnership would work to attain mutual goals of excellent service delivery.
