I Do Not Regret Using Gabby- Kofi Adams

Beleaguered spokesperson for former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams says he feels no regret for having used the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko to propagate then candidate for the NDCs flagbearehip slot, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. Kofi Adams has been accused of plotting with the opposition New Patriotic Party to cause the defeat of the government in the December general elections. This was after a tape purported to contain his voice of Mr Adams in a chat with Gabby Otcher-Drako had leaked Mr Adams has denied being the one behind the voice; but has admitted he had had several chats with Gabby Otchere- Darko and other media personnel in the build-up to the Sunyani congress and after. He was subsequently suspended from his position as a Deputy General Secretary and his NDC membership revoked. His suspension sent a few tongues wagging as to the motive behind the phone call if indeed the voice is that of Kofi Adams. He however told Xfm 95.1 in interview I do not regret using Gabby as a medium through which I could reach the statesman in the cause of our campaign of having our candidate marketed; I dont. According to him, the pro-NDC media outlets were not broadcasting their candidate in any good light and so it was his responsibility to brief those we knew would carry our stories out, justifying his relationship with the NPPs Gabby Otchere-Drako. From all our meetings, we kept the media out. It was only after the meetings that I brief those we knew would carry our stories out. And I do not regret using Gabby as a medium through which I could reach the statesman in the cause of our campaign of having our candidate marketed; I dont. And in principle, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a friend on the other side; why, I know a lot of people who have such relationships, Kofi Adams asserted. So what are they talking about? There are some who even have husbands or wives who belong to the other side we are friends before politics, he added To him, political figures on opposing sides are not enemies and should not be seen as that. He said, tThe fact that somebody is in another party does not mean that the person cannot be useful to you in another way. Tsatsu Tsikata, when he was jailed and was so sick, who took care of him at the cardiothoracic center? Was it not Prof Frimpong Boateng? So will you say that because Prof is an NPP person, so by taking care of Tsatsu, he was going to inject him to die? He quizzed.
