Blame NPP, NDC For 'Violent' Biometric Registration - CPP

The Communications Director of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Nii Armah Akomfrah, has asked the NPP to stop blaming the police for the violence that has characterised the ongoing biometric registration exercise. The NPP among other demands called for the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye, to resign. However, Mr. Akomfrah said the police have been efficient in discharging their duties. The Ghana Police sometimes must be applauded because they use methods in their work that can sometimes in itself bring violence and it is commendable that they use a softer approach which calms things down, he opined. So if political leaders and people who are seeking to lead this country go around beating their chest and challenging people that is exactly what the country does not need. We need solutions. According to Mr. Akomfrah, the NDC and NPP have engineered the problem which has characterised the biometric registration exercise at some centers. Im afraid to say that we have received little of that peace and stability we need from either the NPP or the NDC during this biometric registration, Mr. Akomfrah declared.
