The Ghana Health Service is introducing two new vaccines into the Immunisation Programme to reduce childhood mortality. These are Pneumococcal for Pneumonia and Menigities and Rotavines for diarrhoea for children under five years. The vaccines are to give extra protection to children and help attain the fourth MDG which aims at reducing childhood deaths. This was made known by the National Programme Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation, Dr Kojo Antwi-Adjei at a media briefing in Accra. The Ghana Health Service wants the media to assist it to carry out education on the two new vaccines.
