Nobody Forced Me To Quit

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Leroy Appiah has stated blatantly that he hanged his national team boots on his own volition. Contrary to perceptions that he quit Black Stars as a result of non performance due to his clubless status at the time, he revealed that I was not forced to quit, it was my own decision. I believe in bowing out when the applause is loudest. Others like the Peles, Yeboahs, Akunnors played their part and made way for some of us, he said on Happy FM. Appiah, who joined Serbia Super Liga side Vojvodina on a six-month loan spell in February, noted that he was having a wonderful season, saying, I am enjoying myself here. I improve game after game, and sometimes wish our games would be telecast worldwide for everyone to see. I still have a lot of football in me. I went through a lot which rendered me clubless, but sometimes we dont understand the workings of God. What I went through has turned out to be a blessing. The Serbian league is not as popular as the Premiership, but I believe in attaching seriousness to whatever you do, so I am having a great time here. And, responding to whether he will make a U turn to the Stars, he stated emphatically that: Its said that never say never but I am one person who hardly rescind a decision after taking one. I am now very fit, but I dont think I will return. I will support Kwasi Appiah in prayers. Appiah quit international football after the 2010 World Cup, and that has generated a lot of debate in football circles. He said he was not considering coaching after his career, however, he was waiting on God for direction.
