Nana Jabs Mills Over SADA

The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reaffirmed his commitment to initiate workable policies and programmes that will bridge the yawning developmental gap between the north and south. He stated that unlike his political opponents who were struggling to implement the much-touted Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), his policies would be action-based for all residents to testify. According to him, his policies and programmes would not be left on the shelves to gather dust but be initiated to uplift development of the three northern regions that had been considered as the poorest in the country. Addressing thousands of Muslims at the Tamale Jubilee Park as part of the NPPs National Muslim prayer session, Nana Addo expressed worry at the slow pace in the implementation of the SADA, saying it betrayed the trust and confidence of the north. He noted that the hopes of northerners had been dashed following the currents governments failure to fast track the project which it claimed was going to be a major panacea in developing the area. In this light, he reaffirmed his decision and promise to formulate good policies and programmes that would ameliorate the suffering of the masses in northern Ghana. He urged residents to go out and register in their numbers in the ongoing biometric voter registration, explaining that it was a major determinant of their destiny in the country during the December polls. The NPP flagbearer thanked the people of region for the rousing welcome accorded him and his entourage, observing that it was a manifestation they indeed yearned for an Akufo-Addo led government.
