Ken Agyapongs Comments Were Harsh But Appiah Ofori

The Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, PC Appiah Ofori, has in a subtle manner condemned the comments by his colleague MP, Kennedy Agyapong. According to the outspoken MP, the comments by Kennedy Agyapong who is in the custody of the Police CID were too harsh and unnecessary. Kennedy Agyapong is reported to have declared war on opponents of the NPP on his radio station Oman FM on Friday. Speaking in an interview with XYZ News, Hon. Appiah-Ofori said though the comments by the legislator were inflammatory, he made them out of frustration. He noted that the comments made by the MP were based on the inability of the Police Service to prevent the unprovoked attack on NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Ablekuma South, Ursula Owusu and Abu Jianpor, aide to NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Odododiodoo constituency last week. He added that after the assault on the NPP members, no arrest has been made leaving Kennedy Agyapong no choice than to make such comments. Kennedy Agyapong is likely to spend another night in BNI cells after he was picked up on Monday and interrogated on the comments described as treasonable by the CID. Some NPP big wigs on Tuesday stormed the Police CID headquarters to demand his release but National Chairman of the NPP after a meeting with the CID boss DCOP Prosper Agblor said it is unlikely the scribe will be released.
