NPP Scribe: Youth Should Learn From Ken Agyapong's Gaffe

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Assin North Constituency, Atakora Amaniampong, says the detention and subsequent release of their Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong for using intemperate language on radio is a lesson to the youth of the constituency. The embattled MP who was released last Friday was giving a rousing welcome after paying a visit to his constituency where he advised the youth to adhere to the use of pleasant language in order to sustain the peace the country is currently enjoying. Mr. Amaniampong told XYZ News that despite the lessons drawn from Mr. Kennedys experience, the youth of the NPP will still stand by the truth at all times. He said even though the language was not in good taste, it was no different from comments made by other NDC functionaries. This statement wasnt different from what [Nii Lantey] Vanderpuiye made; it wasnt different from what other NDC politicians have made. He accused the government of targeting Mr Agyapong for political expediency. Mr. Amaniampong said residents of Assin North will have to vote for Kennedy Agyapong and Nana Akufo-Addo to curb what he describes as the spate of selective justice in the country.
