NPP Executives Want NDC MP To Speak On 'Terrorism' In Tamale

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives of the Tamale Central constituency have called on the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Inusah Fuseini to publicly condemn what they described as acts of terrorism by his supporters in the constituency. Some NDC supporters believed to be the Tamale Central MPs thugs on Friday allegedly took the whole area hostage for nearly an hour which resulted into the attack of the homes of two NPP members in the Changli electoral area. Akbar Khomeini, the NPPs Communications officer in charge of the Tamale Central constituency raised these concerns in an interview with Citi News. He said We are concerned about the lukewarm attitude of the police in dealing with these hooligans who are hell bent on disrupting the biometric registration exercise. The appalling silence of the Hon. Inusah Fuseini and the NDC leadership in the constituency is making matters worse. To this end, we demand the following: The Member of Parliament and NDC candidate for the constituency, Inusah Fuseini, must publicly condemn these acts of terrorism by his supporters in the constituency. The NDC candidate, apart from the public condemnation, must show strong commitment to peace by disbanding these groups and allowing due process to be adhered to in this exercise. The police must commence investigations to identify all those who are in possession of these dangerous weapons in the Changli electoral area and allow the law to take its course. In order to safeguard the peace of the constituency, we call on the police to provide security at all registration centers especially as we move into the last phase of the exercise.
