CEO Of First Capital Plus Adjudged Best Entrepreneur

The CEO of First Capital Plus, Mr. William Ato Essien has been adjudged the Best Entrepreneur, Banking & Finance for the year 2011 at the 2nd Ghana Entrepreneur�s Award. The Ghana Entrepreneur Awards, organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Deloitte and Touche, is aimed at honouring outstanding Ghanaian and foreign resident entrepreneurs for their contribution to economic growth and job creation in the country. Mr. Essien was awarded for exhibiting an outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and for his achievements in sustaining economic growth, generating employment and innovation in Ghana. First Capital Plus S&L Company was established in October, 2009 after operating for two years as a micro-finance company. The company has achieved phenomenal growth rates, recording a 2,739.9 percent increase in PBIT between 2010 and 2011. First Capital Plus was also the first financial institution in Ghana to introduce an SMS banking solution that made it possible for customers to deposit cash into their accounts through their mobile phones. Currently, First Capital Plus has over ten operational branches and it is poised to expand its branch network into twenty by the end of 2012 and continue its rapid expansion as it positions itself to leverage on IT to develop products into the African, Asian, North American and European markets.
