"President Mills Is Weak"

President John Evans Atta-Mills has been described by Ghanaians in the latest opinion poll conducted by Research International as corrupt, weak, untruthful, a puppet, greedy, deceptive and insensitive. 4,598 Ghanaians sampled in an opinion poll conducted in April delivered this damning assessment of what they perceive to be President Mills qualities in his 4 year rule. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, was on the other hand described by respondents as innovative, trustworthy, hardworking and decisive. This development will, undoubtedly, serve as a boost to the NPP and its presidential candidate in the run-up to the December polls, as Ghanaians view him more favourably as compared to President Mills. The GH642 million judgement debt scandal, amidst allegations of inflated costs of contracts in four years of being in power has certainly characterised President Mills administration, in the words of founder of the NDC, as the most corrupt administration in the history of Ghanaians. President Mills inability to rein in his appointees, most of whom have been on an insulting spree against political opponents, and recently his inability to control violence unleashed by Nii Lante Vanderpuije in the just ended biometric voter registration exercise, was mentioned by respondents as examples of what characterised President Mills weakness. The litany of broken promises as contained in the NDCs manifesto, Action Year and State of the nation addresses were some of the examples highlighted by respondents of the untruthful nature of President Mills. President Mills was also deemed to be a puppet as there have been rumours of the Ahwois being in control of affairs of governance. President Mills was also deemed to be an insensitive President with the increases in petroleum prices, after promising to reduce them drastically.
