Fear Grips Korle Bu Doctors After Colleague's Murder

The management of the Korle Bu Teaching hospital has assured staff and patients of sound security after last Sundays murder of a 27-year-old medical doctor at the hospital. Desmond Kabah who was found dead in his room at the hospital was the son of the Member of Parliament for Chianapaga, Leo Alowe Kabah. Doctors at the hospital say security at the facility has been porous as the men in charge sleep on duty. They are reportedly living in fear and some have packed out of their rooms. But the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mustapha Salifu in an interview with XYZ News said efforts are being made to beef up security at the hospital. He said there is no need for panic as the incident is an isolated case. Meanwhile, Police in Accra say they are intensifying investigations into the incident. The PRO for the Accra regional command, DSP Freeman Tetteh said staff of the hospital must be security conscious to avoid falling victim to such attacks.
