Defected NPP Members Make U-Turn...

A group of NPP members in the Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region who defected to the ruling NDC and were canvassing for skirt and blouse votes against the NPP Parliamentary candidate Mr. J. B. Danquah Adu, have made a sudden u-turn to the NPP. The group calling itself Potential Allies and True Supporters of the NPP also accused the Eastern Regional Minister Mr. Victor Smith who doubled as the NDC parliamentary candidate for the area, for paying huge sum of monies to influence them on their actions. The group also protested what they described as unhealthy lies circulating over the alleged defection of one thousand NPP members to the NDC. Speaking at a press conference to declare their return to the NPP, spokesperson for the group Mr. Nelson Aboagye Boafo noted that the minor squabble that arose in the Abuakwa North NPP primaries was natural and incidental to any electioneering process, and may cause a handful of their members to be disgruntled but must not precipitate a sharp division or advocate for skirt and blouse. Mr. Aboagye Boafo further stated that, Mr. Victor Smith hooked on the few selfish individuals among them and allegedly paid GHC 50 each to them and also promised to give them a MASLOC loan. They continued that the group had to pay GHC 8.00 for a supposed fee of opening accounts for them but have since not received the loan. They assured their unflinching support to the NPP, Mr. J. B. Danquah Adu and Nana Akufo-Addo who hails from the area.
