It seems some ministers of state are bent on making mockery of �President� Koku Anyidoho�s dismissal of the Ashanti Regional Manager of the Electricity of Ghana (ECG) on radio, following the blackout at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Friday evening during a football match between Ghana�s Black Stars and their counterparts from Lesotho. Minister of Information Fritz Baffour yesterday teasingly declared that he would let Koku Anyidoho speak to the Western Regional Sports Coordinator, Beresford Agbamey Amui, if he (the coordinator) did not ensure that the floodlights and other facilities at the Essipong Sports Stadium were in perfect shape for an impending regional policy fair. �In fact, what happened in Kumasi is being investigated so I will not go there, but look, I will get Koku to speak to Mr. Amui if he does not make sure that facilities at the Essipong stadium are in shape for the Western regional policy fair,� Mr. Baffour remarked, amid laughter from the audience. Mr. Baffour was answering a question on how prepared the Essipong Stadium was during an open forum at the media launch of the Western Regional Policy Fair which will take place from Wednesday, June 13 to Saturday June 16, 2012 on the theme �Building Together In A Better Ghana�. He was very hopeful that Mr. Amui and his team had done all that was needed at the stadium to ensure a very successful regional policy fair. The policy fair in the region will showcase all the programmes, projects and activities of government in the area and give the people the opportunity to witness both, pictorially and otherwise, the achievements of government. The objective of the fair, Mr. Baffour noted, was to create a platform and opportunity for the people of the region to seek the right information and interact with policy makers and implementers, with the view to enhancing policy formulation and review for the development of the region. He added that the fair, the second in the region, would also afford the people the opportunity to assess government policies, programmes, projects and be part of the decision-making process as far as the evaluation and continuation of the policies were concerned. The Western Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo, noted that apart from the exhibition of programmes, policies and activities of the Ministries, Department and Agencies, a series of dialogue sessions would be held where critical issue of importance, which had direct impact on the lives of the people in the region, would be discussed.
