Reports reaching radioXYZonline.com indicate that a young man has been killed in clashes between a group of drug peddlers and the police in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, this morning.
The man, who is believed to be in his mid-twenties, allegedly tried to take on the police with his suspected gang of criminals during an early morning raid by the police.
An eyewitness said that in the heat of the exchanges, the police shot and killed the young man instantly as his colleagues escaped.
The police later arrested some members of the gang when they attempted to attack the Regional Police Commander�s wife in the main market.
The eyewitness said personnel of the military from the 66 Artillery Regiment have been ushered into the town to help maintain calm as investigations continue into the clash.
