John Pantsil Likely To Make Black Stars Return In August

Ghana defender John Pantsil is likely to return to the Black Stars in an international friendly in August. The experienced left-full back was dropped from the Black Stars squad that played the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia early this month due to club inactiveness. He terminated his contract with English Championship side Leicester City in May due to limited playing time. The 30-year-old managed only five starts and two substitute appearances in total for the Foxes- a scenario which cost him his place in the Black Stars for the first time in 10 years. But after the West African giants were beaten 1-0 by the African Champions last weekend, calls have emerged for sweeping changes to be made to the squad ahead of the next qualifiers. Some football administrators, pundits, ex-footballers and fans have called for an infusion of experienced old hands to the squad. Pantsil, with two World Cup appearances to his belt, could be given an international lifeline following the growing demand. Its never true that the Black Stars door has been shut on John Pantsil, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah said He stands a good chance of returning to play for Ghana but I believe it will depend on how active and consistent he will be. Once he gets active before August, why not, he could be part of my team for the next friendly because my aim is to build a solid side,
