Victor Smith-Mania Grips Abuakwa North

Before his decision to contest the parliamentary seat on the ticket on the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region was considered as one of the strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), but that is no more the case as Ambassador Victor Smith is gaining massive endorsements from even hardcore NPP members in the constituency. Thus, the loyalty, dedication and commitment being shown to Ambassador Victor Smith, the Eastern Regional Minister by these NPP stalwarts to enable him win the Abuakwa North seat for the NDC is incredible and beyond imagination. The teeming supporters, including the NPP Women wing in the area had been defying heavy downpours to attend meetings every weekend to discuss how they can win more votes for Ambassador Victor Smith. At Akim Tafo for instance, known NPP women supporters defied heavy downpour to attend a meeting on Sunday 17th June, 2012 at 3:30 pm to discuss how they can win more votes for the development oriented Ambassador Victor Smith and they were in their very large numbers. According to these determined NPP women, they stand for the development of the Abuakwa North Constituency and it is only Ambassador Victor Smith who could develop the constituency hence joining hands with the NDC to make sure he wins the Parliamentary seat in December 7 2012. The women, who were confident about Mr. Smiths ability to bring transformation into the constituency, noted that the few developmental initiatives witnessed under his watch as the Parliamentary candidate for the Abuakwa North constituency is significant and a testimony of his resolve to help his people. They therefore greet with a slogan, Impuntuo, and responded thus Impuntuo Papabi to wit: Development, and is responded with, extraordinary and quality development The NPP Women wing is therefore encouraging each other to continue to spread the good works of Mr. Smith to others so as to win more votes to propel him in his noble ambition. They praised him for his humility, compassion and determination to serve his people in spite of the fact that he is not the Member of Parliament for the area yet. They asserted that they would no more be ridiculed by the NPP leadership who are claiming that even when a cat contests on the partys ticket, it will win. This is unacceptable and besides, it is an insult to NPP members in the area, they lamented. In an interview with some of the NPP women, they indicated that Mr. Victor Smith is the right candidate for the constituency, especially when the NPP candidate, Mr. J.B. Dankwa who had the opportunity to represent them in parliament in 2004-2008 brought no development to the constituency. Why wont we vote skirt and blouse to make Mr. Smith our MP for 2013-2016 when the qualities of a development-oriented leader cannot be found in the NPP candidate who is in the person of J.B. Dankwa, they queried?
