Zongo Youth Advised Against Being Used As Stooges

The National Coordinator of Peace Seekers International, Alhaji Abubakari Danaa, has raised alarm over plots by some politicians to use Zongo youth to disrupt the upcoming December elections. Withholding names of those politicians, he said the meetings are taking place across the country. Alhaji Danaa in an interview with Citi News cautioned the Zongo youth against such moves and pleaded with them to exercise maximum restraint. He said: Some political parties are trying to influence some of the Zongo youth to cause mayhem to their fellow countrymen and I am strongly advising my fellow Muslim brothers particularly those in the Zongos to be aware of such things. He insisted, It will not go a long way to help any of us rather it is going to destroy us so I am pleading with my fellow Zongo youth and all those who are concerned to be aware of such political influences; all these things happen during political election campaign time after that they just ignore us and then continue for another four years and then they come back again. Alhaji Danaa therefore implored his kinsmen to dignify themselves by rising above such temptations. In a related development, the Northern Regional Minister, Moses Bukari Mabengba pleaded with senior citizens in the area to continue to teach the younger generation good morals that will make them become productive. He also asked them to inspire the youth to co-exist peacefully as the December election campaign thickens. This year being an election year we asked the senior citizens to help us ensure that the northern region remains peaceful before, during and after this years elections, he said. He was speaking at the forecourt of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council where some senior citizens in the region were honoured as part of activities marking this years Republic Day celebration.
