What Our Party Is Here To Do - Interim Nat'l Chairman Of Newly-Formed Rawlingses NDP

The interim National Chairman of the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) Dr. Nii Armah Josiah Aryeh has stated that the party is not targeted to break the front of the ruling NDC but to restore broken values and hope to Ghanaians. Dr. Josiah Aryeh added that the party is ready to contest in any form of election to be held in the country by the Electoral Commission. According to him, the party is yet to be endorsed by the Electoral Commission but structures are being put in place for the party to become a formidable force. The formation of the NDP means the Rawlingses have finally ended months of speculations and plans to ditch the NDC and form a new political party. The electoral commission has also confirmed that it is studying documents to approve the NDP ahead of the December polls. Already certain key people close to the Rawlingses have been appointed to take over positions in the party. One Dr. Rockson Mamboi is expected to take the General Secretary position. The suspended General Secretary of the NDC and Spokesperson for the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams is also expected to take a high profile position in the party. Information gathered also indicates that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is likely to be the flagbearer of the party. According to reports, the founder of the NDC and former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings has already given his blessings to the formation of the party. Speaking to XYZ News, Dr. Josiah Aryeh, former General Secretary of the NDC said �we are ready for anything, we are even ready to go into elections even next week�.
