NPPs Joy Over Newly-Formed Konadu's Party Is Laughable - Ablakwa

The Government says the main opposition New Patriotic Partys (NPP) revels over former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings formation of a new party is laughable. Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah, who appeared on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana programme on Friday said the NPP must not rob it in because the two parties are all being bashed by the Rawlingses. The National Democratic Party is supposedly the brain child of former first Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. It has some aggrieved prominent members of the National Democratic Congress as its leading members. The NPP has described as a bad omen for the NDC the emergence of the NDP. But deputy information minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah says the NPP will be deluding itself into thinking the new party will cause the demise of the NDC. He was on the programme with the NPPs Communication Director, Nana Akomea. If what the Rawlingses say are gospel facts and that always they are right, then they cannot be wrong about you. The principle applies, the logic is clear that you are thiefs, you are murderers, you are vampires. You just came to milk this country dry. That is what they say about [the NPP], he said. He said the NDC is ready to meet the NPP boot for boot based on the accusations from the Rawlingses. Meanwhile, pollster, Ben Ephson says the current exit of some close allies of the Rawlingses to form a new political party could serve as a good omen for the ruling NDC. Ben Ephson says the Rawlingses have become a major challenge for the Mills administration and a likely exit of Mrs Rawlings, if well managed will help NDC win the December elections. Mr. Ephson told XYZ News, he however doubts Mr. Rawlings will officially join the NDP.
