NDP Warns NDC Not To Blame It If It Receives Pounding At December Elections

The yet to be registered party, National Democratic Party says it is bent on contesting the 2012 General Elections. The party has also debunked news reports that it has rescinded its decision of contesting the 2012 General Elections. Interim Chairman of the party, Dr Josiah Aryeh says the NDP must not be blamed if the NDC receives a pounding at the elections. He pointed out that the party will be visible once it receives its certification from the Electoral Commission. Meanwhile, the NDC says it is waiting patiently for its founder former President Rawlings to break his silence over the formation of the National Democratic Party. According to the party, it is aware that former first Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is the brain behind the formation of the NDP. The source told Radio Ghana that the party learnt its lessons from the days towards the party's congress in Sunyani last year when Nana Konadu denied contesting the flagbearership race against President Mills. He assured the rank and file of the NDC not to panic as the National Executive is on top of the issue. The source hinted that August 4, next month has been tentatively selected for the launch of the party's national campaign.
