After the hide-and-seek that has characterized the upcoming celebrity wedding of Sammi Awuku, Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), News-One can confirm that the wedding will take place on Saturday, July 21 at the Liberty Centre of Assemblies of God Church at Abeka Lapaz in Accra.
The pretty lady, Mary Anane, is a former beauty queen and banker who currently occupies a top position at Zenith bank. �They were introduced in church today. They were introduced as Samuel Kwabena Awuku and Mary Akosua Adanse Anane. They were called to face the whole church and the congregation was asked for the last time whether anyone had something against the wedding.
That was the third time they were introduced to the congregation and their wedding announced in church. It means that on the wedding day, that question of whether someone has something to say would not be asked,� News-One sources in the church disclosed on Sunday. The papers checks also showed that Sammi and Mary completed the pre-marriage counseling programme organized by the church about a month ago and alls is set for the wedding which is expected to attract a spectacular crowd.
At the couple�s traditional engagement ceremony held in May this year, the event attracted a huge crowd though the date and venue was kept under wraps because it was planned as a private ceremony exclusively for a few relations and close friends.
It however attracted big names including former Vice President Aliu Mahama, NPP Communications Director, Nana Akomea, NPP General Secretary Sir John, NPP National Youth Organizer Anthony Karbo, NPP MP aspirant Ursula Owusu, former Ashanti Regional Minister S.K. Boafo, Olympic Torch Bearer Kwami Sefa Kayi of Peace FM and a host of big names in the media. While available information said the reception would be held at the forecourt of the church soon after the wedding ceremony, there are 15 other places speculated as reception venue.
The couple is said to have picked purple as its colour theme for the wedding.
