Joy FM's Anny Osabutey Wins CNN African Radio Journalist Of The Year Award!

JOY FM�s Anny Osabutey has won this year�s CNN Multichoice African Radio Journalist of the year Award at a ceremony in Lusaka, Zambia. Anny Osabutey was the only Ghanaian nominee amongst 34 other nominees selected from across Africa for the 2012 edition of the awards. His Hotline documentary, �Squatters Paradise� won the continent�s most prestigious journalism award in the radio category. �Squatters Paradise� was first broadcast in 2011. Two Kenyan journalists Tom Mboya and Evanson Nyaga with their story about an African tribe in India, long-forgotten and little-known, won the overall award. Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show Monday, Mr Osabutey said his objective in doing the documentary was to tell the brighter side of life in an otherwise gloomy situation in hazardous slum. He said when he started visiting the slum to gather information for the documentary, he was struck on the very first day by children in the slum strutting gaily and singing the Ghana National Anthem
