Unemployed Graduate Assoc., A Time Bomb In Ghana?

The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party NPP, Mr. Anthony Karbo, has observed that the massive unemployment rate facing the country is the biggest crisis ever to be recorded in the country. He observed that the increasing number of graduates from the countrys higher learning institutions who get unemployed after acquiring professional knowledge and skills who have now formed an association is a time bomb that can explode anytime to halt the wheels of national development. Mr. Anthony Karbo, made the observation at recently held town hall meeting at Ghanaian Presbyterian Church auditorium where the 2012 presidential running mate of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia met Ghanaians resident in Toronto. The theme for the meeting was, Taking Action to Restore and Redeem Ghana. He noted that Ghana is at the cross roads and at a very critical time of the country where it will not take only citizens back home in the country alone to make the monumental change but also with Ghanaians resident in foreign destinations. He said Ghanaians will be going to the polls come December to vote against the incompetence, corruption, stealing and wrong leadership of the NDC and bring back the NPP which has the audacity to come back to power because it introduced so many programmes that sought the comfort of the people but have collapsed under the NDC administration. According to the NPP youth organizer, graduates and youth in the country needs to be given economic prosperity in their life time so they can also contribute meaningfully towards the nations development. We the youth of the NPP want to give our presidential candidate Nana Akufo Ado and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia competent good old times and assured them of peaceful eight years rule without any disturbance which we believe they will deliver he assured the partys candidates. Trying to figure out why the NPP lost the 2008 elections, Anthony Karbo asked why the party lost the election. But was quick to say that maybe it was by the benefit of hindsight God wanted Ghanaians to see the incompetence on the part of the NDC and bring NPP back to power. Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of the Toronto NPP chapter Mr. Augustine Opoku Agyeman, also noted that there are many challenges facing Ghanaians in the country today. Arguably, the biggest challenge that most Ghanaians are concerned with is the massive unemployment rate in the country as the experience of waking up in the morning with no money in their pockets and no job to go to has become a constant reminder to many Ghanaians of how fragile their lives are. He held that, the people of Ghana can no longer overlook the suffering of the large numbers of brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers and especially can not over look the plight of the future of Ghana which is the children. When he took his turn to address the gathering, the 2012 presidential running mate of the NPP Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, also admitted that the cost of living in Ghana has increased astronomically where unemployment is increasing everyday. He said under NPPs new government there will be basic education to train people how to acquire professional skills from Kindergarten to Senior High School to apply the skills they have to create jobs. It is sad to observed that 3-4 Junior High students does not end up in High Schools as they drop out and get involved in criminal activities he observed with sadness. Akufo Addo Bawumia government will improve skills in teachers; extend internet service to schools for brilliant students to exchange knowledge and ideas with less brilliant ones whiles teachers also tailored their notes for total excellence across board he said. Dr. Bawumia maitained that, basic education would be redefined from Kindergarten to Senior High School to have the base to build the skills for employment creation as well as resourcing the Polytechnics to also serve the same purpose. End.
