Kufuor Tells Ghanaians: Hwe W'asetena Mu Na To Aba Pa

His Excellency, Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor, former President of Ghana, has in his first major address in the country since leaving office on January 7, 2009, has appealed to Ghanaians to examine their standard of living and vote wisely in the upcoming December polls. Speaking on the theme: Development in Freedom: Empowering the People to Build the Nation at the 2nd Liberty Lecture of the Danquah Institute at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), the former president said the party's slogan for the 2000 elections, hwe W'asetena Mu Na To Aba Pa" to wit examine your standard of living and vote wisely, is very apt for today. This years election is a verdict of Ghanaians of the last four years. Its about the future of all Ghanaians Let the nation look at the record of NPP and other parties. Let the nation look at the many promises which are unfulfilled, especially in current times. Lets look at the value of the cedi and please lets vote wisely, he said. Mr Kufuor, who in 2011 was chosen to receive the World Food Prize together with President da Silva of Brazil for showing personal commitment and visionary leadership while serving as President of Ghana, warned that Ghanaians risk suffering untold economic hardships if the NPP is not voted back into power, stressing that the country needs a transformational leader in the person of Nana Akufo Addo, the NPP Presidential candidate. I have no doubt the NPP flagbearer is the most rounded and experienced on the field and has tried and tested team of would-be ministers...Most of them I worked with in government and I can vouch for them.
