Restore NDC Ideals To Gain Unity - FONKAR Tells Prez Mahama

Some aggrieved members of the ruling National Democratic Congress have challenged President John Dramani Mahama to restore the ideals of the party if he wants to achieve unity. President Mahama on Thursday promised to unite the various factions within the party ahead of the December elections when he picked nomination forms to contest for the presidency on the ticket of the NDC. However, a leading member of the defunct Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR), Alhaji Naziru Mohammed told Citi News unity can only be achieved if the partys ideals are restored. We believe strongly that there is nothing that can unite the rank and file of the people under the umbrella except there is restoration of the values that we have touted for so many years, he explained. He also stated that if President Mahama wants to unite the party now, it means he has seen the importance of unity unlike his predecessor who was lackadaisical in the issue of unity.
