NPP Starts National Campaign Today

The New Patriotic Party will today hold its annual national delegates conference to, among other things, initiate strategies for the December 2012 elections. The conference, which takes place at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), is on the theme, �There is hope for Ghana�. The highlights of the annual conference will be the adoption of the 2012 Manifesto. The Party Chairman, General Secretary, National Treasurer and Campaign Manager will also present their respective reports as to the readiness of the party ahead of the December elections. Later in the afternoon, the party will start its campaign for 2012 with a rally at Mantse Agbona in Accra, where the 2012 flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, and his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be officially introduced to the public. All the party�s 230 parliamentary candidates are also expected to be introduced at the ceremony. The National Executive Council of the party met in Accra yesterday to adopt the party�s manifesto for the 2012 polls. Meanwhile, the official launch of the party�s manifesto is expected to take place on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the National Theatre. Today, Saturday, August 25, Nana Akufo-Addo, is expected to launch his internet-based campaign at the Silverbird Cinemas, located at the Accra Mall at 3p.m. He will also officially launch his website for the December polls, as well as his official Facebook, Twitter and Youtube accounts The NPP flagbearer will, at the event, undertake a live question and answers session, via video chat with his followers on his official Facebook page. In attendance will be the Vice Presidential Aspirant of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, National Youth Organizer, Mr. Anthony Karbo and Mr. Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson to the NPP flagbearer, among others
