President Mahama Cautions Radio Stations In Northern Region Against Creating Divisions Among Politicians

President John Dramani Mahama has appealed to the people of the Northern Region to use lessons from the death of President Mills to bring to an end the recurring chieftaincy disputes. Citing Nanum, Dagbon and Buipe, the President promised to give the disputes the needed attention first as a son of the region, and in his capacity as President. Addressing a durbar of chiefs and people at the Jubilee Park to round off his Northern regional Thank You Tour, the President also used the occasion to caution radio stations which use their platforms to create divisions among politicians to revert to their traditional mandate of informing, educating and promoting truth, accuracy and balance. Radio Ghana Correspondent reports that the crowd that received the President was unprecedented as the convoy was held up in traffic for three hours for a journey that could otherwise take 25 minutes.
